據薛達志講, 俊歡騰之所以未竟全功, 是由於他給冠軍廊的一個耐力測試(a staying test).
"We agreed that Olivier should wait around midfield, letting him balance and relax, and then go for it at the 800 metres to make it a staying test. We thought that would give us our best shot to beat Floral Pegasus and I guess it was ultimately what brought the favourite undone."
